You should first know that the print quality of all our inlay chips are the same, whether it be this chip or the casino grade clay inlay chips. The quality and price of the chip is affected by the base chip composition and the quality of mold used to make it. For example, a 10 gram casino grade clay compression chip will be more expensive than an 11.5 gram ABS (high tensile strength plastic) chip. Important: Weight has nothing to do with quality. This is one of the biggest misconceptions when buying poker chips. Weight is a preference, some just like playing with a heavier chip. A chip is made heavier by manufacturing it with a metal core. But attributes like clay content, stackability and sharpness of edge are attributes that define the price of a chip. With that said, Paulson chips have the reputation of being the best chips on the market for both home and professional gaming alike. You'll pay a premium for these chips, but you know you are getting the best. We customize the Paulson Tophat & Cane by placing your custom inlay over the standard existing inlay that comes with each chip. The deep recessed area allows for the new inlay to sit flush inside the chip. The Tophat & Cane also have sharp edges and excellent stacking ability. Being consistent with casino grade clay chips, it has no metal core. If you think the Paulson Tophat & Cane may be a bit out of your price range, see our equivalent Great Wall chips. The Great Walls have a very close look and feel to the Paulson chips but the cost is 40% less. Common Question: How do I know how many chips to order? The answer to this depends on how many players are in a game or if you are ordering chips for something other than a poker game, like promotional purposes. If you're ordering chips for playing poker, below is a guide to help you decide what to buy: 300 Chips: Smaller games with 3-4 players (avg cost $499) 500 Chips: 5-10 Players (most popular) (avg cost $751) 1000 Chips: Good for multiple table tournaments (avg cost $1,499) You can also order any other quantity in between or higher than the ones listed above. Chip Cases: You may also want to purchase a chip case for the set you're ordering. We carry standard as well as custom engraved wood cases for 300, 500, and even 750 chips. We carry standard aluminum carrying cases as well for 300, 500, 650, and 1000 chips. Also popular are 1000 chip acrylic carrying cases for tournament situations. Common Question: You say this is an inlay chip, what exactly does that mean? An inlay chip is one where your custom image is printed off the chip on vinyl, laminated with a rock hard polycarbonate coating and set into the recessed center of a blank chip of your choice.
With an inlay chip you are customizing only the center of area of the chip. And yes, both sides of the chip are printed. Common Question: Will these inlays eventually peel off? I don't want cheap stickers on my poker chips set. How an inlay is manufactured makes all the difference when producing a quality set. An inlay printed on paper and laminated with a thin vinyl won't last 6 months. We use a 2 mm thick vinyl substrate to print on, and use the most expensive lamination available, polycarbonate, to protect the image. The lamination is the key to your set lasting years, and because of this we only use the best. Your images are completely water proof and oil resistant with polycarbonate lamination. Can you peel these images off? If you tried hard, meaning you picked at the images for a while or used a knife or razor blade to try to get them out, yes, they will come off. But if you use them to play poker 7 nights a week, the images will not come off and last for years. Common Question: Are there any other charges I should know about besides the per chip price and shipping cost? Yes there can be. Below are examples of possible up charges: Multiple Images: If you decide you want different images on each chip, there is a $12 per image charge when you go above 2 different images in a set. So you get up to two different images included in the basic per chip price. Going above two images carries a $12 per image charge. This applies to situations where you want denominations printed on chips, or want different color backgrounds printed on your image to match the base color of the chip. Chip Design: Basic chip design is free with your custom chip set. This includes an original design, one round of medium revisions, and one round of small changes. If there are multiple rounds of revisions or major design changes midway through the design phase, graphic design charges will apply at $45 per hour. Most chip designs can be completed for no charge if planned correctly. This is why it's important to know what you want and explain it to us in the most detail as possible in the beginning. Custom Illustration: Custom illustration is when you send us a logo or graphic that's poor quality and needs to be recreated by an artist. Many people pull images off the web and send it to us expecting that it can print. Usually they are too small in size (the images, not the people who send them) or are poor quality and need to be redrawn by hand. That is custom illustration. Custom chip design is where we would take that recreated illustration, or any other design element, and incorporate it into a custom chip design. Custom illustration averages around $40 average jobs, and up to $100 for complex jobs. Rush Charges: Rush charge may apply when you require production time in less than 7 business days. We will quote you rush charges upon request. 10 Gram Paulson Custom Clay Chip Pricing Includes printing both sides of chip with up to two different images and basic chip design.
